Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before you start.
Is it free?
Yes. You only need an account, so your foods and plans are saved and synced across your devices.
Where does the nutrition data come from?
Barcode and name lookups use Open Food Facts, a free, open food database. You can always type or correct the values from the label yourself.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. A copy of your data stays on your device, so you can keep editing offline. Changes sync when you reconnect.
Can I use my own calorie and macro goals?
Yes. Nothing is set for you. Add targets to any plan, or leave them blank.
Can I share a plan with someone?
Yes. Publish a plan as a Google Sheet to your Drive and send the link, or download it as an Excel file. In the sheet, changing a quantity updates the calories and macros.
Do I need a Google account?
No. You can sign up with email and password. A Google account is only needed if you want to publish plans to Google Sheets; the Excel download works without one.
Can I get my data out?
Any time. Export plans as PDF, Excel or CSV, export your foods, or download a full backup of everything.
Is my data private?
Your data is saved to your account and only you can see it. We don't sell it or show ads. Food lookups send just the barcode, or the brand and food name, to Open Food Facts.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser, and you can install it on your home screen. On Android, choose Install app in Chrome's menu; on iPhone, tap Share in Safari, then Add to Home Screen.
